Well I know it's been WAAAAY too long since I've written. I'm soooo sorry! Things have been a wee bit hectic these days. For those of you who haven't heard I no longer reside in Charleston SC. (boohoo) I've made the big move back to New York. It's definitely going to take some adjusting because I can feel the COLD in the air already.(boohoo again)
It's so funny when I moved to Charleston I didn't like it. It was just a boring place at a much slower pace then I would've liked. That is of course before I built Affair Hair by...Tanesha and EVERYTHING just opened up. Not just my eyes but my mind. I actually had the opportunity to work in some of the most beautiful homes and historical sites in the country! I could see all the beauty that Charleston had to offer and I don't mean just the sites but the people. I've had the pleasure of working with some of the sweetest, smartest, strongest most beautiful women you could ever meet. I'm so blessed to be able to call these women MY FRIENDS. We've laughed, cried and prayed together and I'm so much better for knowing them. One day I actually sat down and thought about all the women that I know in Charleston and it hit me that about 98% of them are entrepreneurs and own their own businesses. Charleston is where Wonder Woman and Super Girl would come to juice up to take on the world!
To all the vendors and beautiful brides that trusted me THANK YOU!!!
To all my Wonder Women I MISS YOU!!!!!!!

A Shoot to Remember!!
As most of you know I have been working on creating a line of monogrammed accessories. A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of working with some of the most talented people in the the beauty/fashion industry. A very good friend of mine Juliet of Juliet Elizabeth Photography helped me put together a beautiful shoot at one of the most gorgeous places Charleston has to offer The Legare Waring House. I must tell you that there was so much love in the air. Just to look around the room and know that everyone present was there purely because they believed in me was quite overwhelming. I kept threatening to cry but Juliet kept laughing at me and lightening the mood. It was a tornado looming in the air not to mention bees/hornets circling us like vultures but we still managed to laugh our butts off the entire time. Oh and the brick layers working on the property made for the best comic relief as they prayed for x-ray vision while their eyes lingered over our beautiful models! The rain held off right until we got the final outside shot it was amazing. I know my grandmother was watching over me and telling God to hold the rain for just another minute. I'm so grateful for a beautiful day, beautiful pictures and more importantly BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE!!! I miss you Mommy!!!

Charleston Weddings Magazine Spring 2012 !!!!
It's Here It's Here!!!... All of my lovely brides can now see what I've been creating in Charleston Weddings Magazine's Spring 2012 issue. It's on page 116 and it's entitled "something blue"!! OK for those of you who haven't seen it yet it is a custom monogrammed swarovski crystal ( blue) hair pin. The magazine did an absolutely FABULOUS job highlighting the hair jewelry and I think it complimented the hairstyle beautifully!! I applaud you all!!
I've gotten such an overwhelmingly incredible response to this product and I can't wait to start creating them for my brides this upcoming wedding season.
When I started this line I wanted to create something that would evoke emotion and be worn with a sense of pride and honor. Something that a bride can pass down from generation to generation. Whether it's the initial of the name you'll soon carry or an initial to honor a loved one when the smoke clears, and everyone is gone all we have is who we are, our family our name..
SO WEAR IT BEAUTIFULLY!!!

New Year New Me!!
Hi Everyone!! It's down time for the Charleston Bridal Industry and it has been much needed! 2011 was INCREDIBLE!!! I beautified over 100 brides and their loved ones and it was and always will be an honor to do so! While others are taking this time to take vacations (so jealous) I'm actually in the midst of designing a bridal accessory line. I'm soo excited and scared but I've learned that you can't get different results doing the same thing over and over again so here I am doing something different. It started off as a hair accessory line that just grew into something a little more. I love being able to do multiple things with one object so I love that I can offer that to my brides. The wonderful ladies at Charleston Bridal Magazine (Melissa and Ayoka) saw them at a show for Maddison Row and decided they wanted to introduce them to you lovely brides in their upcoming February 2012 issue! (just in time for those Valentine's Day proposals!!)
They're something BLUE, something NEW from... ME TO YOU!!!
I hope you like them!!

My first Indian Wedding!!
Oh my goodness I've been dying to do wedding hair for an Indian wedding and I finally had the chance. The bride's name is Kavita and she comes from an incredible family of very strong and very funny women! Everything about this ceremony was so enriched in culture and tradition. The night before the ceremony which would normally be the rehearsal dinner all the women in the party come together and get henna done on their hands. The bride's is especially intricate and includes her groom's name hidden somewhere in the design. It's so beautiful! I've always wanted to get henna but I never want to come off as a fraud!! (hahaha)
The day of the wedding the family comes together and performs a ritual of prayer with music and dance. Then all of the women help the bride get dressed in her wedding sari. Western women have nothing on Indian women when it comes to finding a wedding dress! They fly all the way to India to pick the fabric and then have it made there! And we thought going through racks was work!! (haha) Anyway her sari was a beautiful gold and red beaded ensemble( created by her aunt in India) that would make Kate Middleton's frock look like something from the bins of Fashion Bug! (no offense Kate)
I can't wait to share pics!! It was beautiful I was honored and I can't wait to show off the beauty of another culture!!

Chloe as Princess Grace
I had the pleasure of working with the beautiful Chloe who is an itty bitty spit fire with great taste!! She told me that she got more comments on her hair then she did her dress!! That's saying a lot because her dress was a gorgeous blush pink Vera Wang!! I hope you enjoy her hair as much as I do. I so enjoyed helping her bring out her inner "Princess Grace" So pretty!!

The Wise Kids
I'm so excited to be working on a small film called "The Wise Kids" here in Charleston! A great make-up artist friend of mine name Christien (who's incredible) got me the gig and I'm ecstatic.
Watch out Charleston because I'm getting ready to receive my oscar for best hair!!! (smile)

Jamila and Aaron
I have recently had the pleasure of working with an incredible couple named Jamila and Aaron Curry. For you football fans yes it is "the Aaron Curry" of the Seattle Seahawks! Jamila and I hit it off immediately and weren't a bit surprised to find out we shared the same birthday. Her family and friends are so funny and sweet and it made working with them an absolute pleasure! Not to mention a certain sweet 7 month old baby boy.
My girls Elizabeth Quinton and Juliet Jones were both on hand to make faces beautiful and capture every moment of Jamila and Aaron's perfect day.
The couple used Mindy Weiss of Beverly Hills "event planner extraordinaire" who turned Lowndes Grove into a beautiful tropical oasis of pink and orange. It was probably the best weekend of the summer and a great day to get married to the one you love!

Whew wee it's wedding season!!
I'm sorry I haven't been on in awhile but as you may know I have a toddler that keeps me pretty busy! (smile) Along with this super cruising toddler I am happy to report that business has been thriving!! I have truly been blessed to work with some fantastic planners, make-up artists and photographers BUT above all THE BRIDES!!!
This wedding season has been off and running and I have been having a blast every step of the way. Being mobile has given me the opportunity to see some of the most beautiful venues South Carolina has to offer including DeBordieu in Georgetown, SC (which is gorgeous).
Here is Missy the bride of that gorgeous DeBordieu wedding. I must say that I had an absolutely wonderful time working with this bridal party. Missy and I met quite a few times so I got a chance to meet everyone from her lovely grandmother to her closest cousin via skype. From day one Missy knew she wanted long, flowing waves so we got this look by using custom made hair extensions. Huge shout out to Marni Rothschild for the beautiful photo!

HELLO!!
Hello to all my future brides and beauty enthusiasts! My name is Tanesha and I have a small and fabulous business named: "Affair Hair By...Tanesha," located in Charleston S.C. I specialize in wedding/affair hair of all kinds and come to your location. I've been a hairstylist for over 10 years with dual licenses in both master barbering and master cosmetology so there's no texture or color of hair that I haven't worked with. I have even had the pleasure of living on the beautiful island of St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands where I specialized in bridal hair for all of the brides flying into the island to get married.
If you're on this site you were most likely referred to me by a wonderful photographer named Juliet Jones who was the reigning queen of bridal hair , but has since passed the torch to me to pursue her creative endeavors behind the lens. She does incredible work!! http://www.julietelizabethphotography.com/
Here are a few images that show a little of my work!
This first set is from a beautiful bride named Laura. Her wedding took place at the Rivercourse on Kiawah Island, SC. Laura had a ton of hair, so this formal style was perfect for her! It suited the location and style of the wedding.
I also did most of her bridesmaids hair, so I'm including a few photos of them too!
The second set are from Laura Pelzer's wedding (who owns the chic bridal shop downtown called Maddison Row). She recently got married at First Scots Presbyterian and was going for a style with a "vintage" feel. She looked stunning!
Stay tuned for my website that is coming soon! ps, click on any photo and it becomes larger. :)
